Tuscany - Maremma Bolgheri and Super Tuscans
Bolgheri is the land where the Supertuscan IGT bland was born in 1968. Here is where Marquis Mario Incisa della Rocchetta already in 1944 planted vineyards of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, vines that did not belong to the Tuscan tradition. Starting in 1970s his wine Sassicaia has become a true legend and today there are about fifty producers who here create some of the most famous wines in the world, with grapes from Merlot to Syrah, from Cabernet Sauvignon to Cabernet Franc, from Petit Verdot to Sangiovese. On request it is possible to organize day trips to visit wineries in the Bolgheri DOC area and to include visits to local oil mills or to producers of other typical products.

Apart from expansive vineyards, the region is home to acres and acres of cherry trees, peaches and apricots, and in season the scenery is delightful.
